DIDI
Lab + Formosan Mountain Dog mix | neutered male | 1 years 9 months old | 37 lbs

My Story
A pregnant dog wandered into a private temple and gave birth to five black puppies. One did not survive and the rest lived in the nearby veggie garden and dirt mound. When these pups grew a bit bigger they started to follow their mom into areas right next to a high-speed road way. The speeding cars posted a great danger to dogs, and the hostile attitude from the neighbors also began to surface. They chased the dogs around, set up dangerous animal traps, used poison, water sprayed them, beat them, and even announced that they would run them over with their cars. Therefore, we decided to interfere and brought the dogs to our shelter, hoping to find them a forever home where they can live a happy and safe life.
My Personality
DiDi has always been bigger than his siblings, but is also the gentlest of them all. He is filled with curiosity, and likes to sniff around exploring everywhere. He does not have food guarding issues with both human and dogs, and knows how to wait and sit.
He adapts to new people and environment really well, interacts nicely with his foster family immediately and becomes close and loving when he becomes familiar with the family. DiDi loves to interact with other dogs, and likes to run around on the lawn playing with and chasing other dogs. Yet, he is a very polite boy while doing so.
He loves car rides and taking long walks, and going to be a great companion for walks, traveling, and exercising. In terms of taking baths and visiting the vet, he is very cooperative and non-aggressive, except maybe struggling a little bit during nail clippings. DiDi can recognize his caretaker within a very short period of time, can follow the person well while outside, and has no problem returning when called. When facing strangers or kids, he would flinch a bit with really loud noise or movement, but is still always friendly. He is not interested in cats, and would not attack them. DiDi is nicely potty trained. He is used to doing his business outside, and has also learned to use potty pads indoors.
