ELMO
Terrierr + Shepherd + FMD mix | neutered male | 4 months old | 18 lbs
My Story
We guess that Elmo was born to a stray dog since he was found in the mountain area where a volunteer regularly feeds the stray dogs. The volunteer found this 2-m-o puppy with a missing leg and horrible skin condition. The volunteer took him to a non-kill shelter and tried to find home for him via the internet, and we responded to the social media post that we would take in Elmo and rehabilitate him so that he can be adopted out. He was placed into a loving foster home. Elmo has since been trained to socialize and learned good house manners.
Vet diagnosed the leg was broken by some external force and he was not naturally born with three legs. We have no idea how he lost a leg at only a few weeks old, and we also cannot believe - how did manage to survive in wild?
My Personality
Elmo had a tough start in life. He used to be shy and reserved when we first met him. It took us a while to gradually bond with him, and then we guided him to interact with humans, other dogs and even cats. Finally, he came out of his shell and quickly learned to appreciate the good feelings of cuddling and showing affection with humans. Elmo is a sweet and loving young pup! Now He’s very sociable and comfortable around strangers and new environments.
He is calm and stable, follows commands very well. He is well behaved inside the house, with no chewing or barking issues. He is crate trained and potty trained.
He enjoys the companion of dogs in his foster home a lot. His favorite pastime is hanging out with dogs in the park.
