Gilbert's Story

Gilbert was rescued along with his littermates when they were found by a rescuer during a heavy downpour. The rescuer was driving through a country road and had to stop on the side of the road when she heard puppies whimpering. It took her awhile to locate them. Eventually she found them in a ditch huddled together, starving and covered in mud. It was obvious the puppies were dumped in the secluded countryside road and was left there to die. The rescuer knew the puppies would have little chance of survival, so she managed to get them all out of the ditch. All puppies were taken to the vet where they received treatment. Gilbert is one of these lucky puppies.

Gilbert is current on all vaccinations and rabies shot. He is ready for his forever home. We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy. Gilbert is patiently waiting for a home to call his own! Please open your heart and welcome Gilbert to become part of your life. Gilbert will return you with his unconditional love and loyalty!

Get to Know Gilbert -

Gilbert is a very mellow boy, observant and well behaved. He is your average puppy, affectionate, cuddly and energetic. Gilbert may seem shy and skittish when introduced to strangers or new environment; however, since he is very food motivated, so it’s easy to bond with him with the help of yummy treats. Once the trust is built, he will become the most cuddly and affectionate dog ever. The main issue of Gilbert is he tends to be shy with strangers , but once he warms up he’s a total goofy love ball! Sometimes, he barks to the sudden coming up and unknown stranger, but he can be stopped immediately.

He is a bit cautious and timid to try new things, and will bark a bit, but with little encouragement, he will move along. He loves doggie playmates; it would be ideal for Gilbert to be the additional dog for family that already has dog of similar size. He is a great temperament pup; with some basic training and proper socialization, Gilbert will make a great family dog!
