LOPO
Jindo mix | male | 2 years old | 35 lbs

My Story
Lopo and his 4 siblings were brought to the public shelter in Yongin (SK) when they were all only a few months old. Despite their beautiful coloring, they were all overlooked by adopters because they lacked socialization and were very shy and fearful to new people.
A year passed, and the whole litter was listed for euthanasia. @ypap.rescue posted hoping to get help pulling them to avoid euthanasia. They were sent to YPAP’s boarding facility and then separate fosters in the SF Bay Area. Oona (fka Ooltie) and Obi (fka Mario) have been adopted, so their remaining two siblings Omi and Lopo are still waiting for their furever homes!
My Personality
Lopo is on the more shy side of his siblings- he needs a slow intro to new people and warms up faster to women than to men. He’s on his way to being housebroken but needs more work when it comes to not going on carpets/rugs. He is good with other dogs but can sometimes be too persistent in chasing or annoying the other dog so it’s best that he’s supervised as he continues to learn social cues.
All of Lopo’s siblings have had a high prey drive, so we would not recommend homes with small animals. He is crate trained but may whine a bit initially when his humans leave. He responds well to leash pressure but will need more confidence building around cars and in new places. He is currently very scared of cars (parked or moving) and needs a handler that will work on that fear, but he is fine once he is in a car and has no car sickness or anxiety.
The ideal home for Lopo is one that can commit to training and helping him build confidence to live a fulfilled life!

DAILY ROUTINE QUICK FACTS
Comments: His foster mom currently has him on a very structured routine which has helped a lot of his anxiety as a nervous pup. Adopters should prepare to continue this routine until they’re able to seek a trainer.
